Pastie.org is disabled

Just now, logging on to your favorite code fragment storage service, I found the following sad message:

Sorry, Pastie is offline.

pastie.org was DDOSed twice last night. The Rails Machine has become a sponsor of the site.

I like this.

')

I’m in the middle of RailsConf 2012 right now.

Hang in there, we'll be back.

Under the cut translation

Sorry, Pastie is currently unavailable.

The service has undergone a DDOS attack twice last night. To protect their network and other clients, the Rails Machine hosting provider refused to host and sponsor Pastie further.

I did not expect this and did not know that my hosting provider would simply turn off the power so quickly.

Right now I'm on RailsConf 2012, but I'm working on the current problem and the project migration plan.

Hold on, we'll be back.

I am really upset about this. I'm just the only person who launched the site, free from monetization. I received very little money per month in ad shows. Probably, they will be enough to pay for hosting now, when I do not have a sponsor.

I believe that this is just the reverse side of the content of a large and popular site, but it is very frustrating. If someone feels like they have the experience to help deal with DDOS, please reach out and contact me .

I don’t know why, but I personally don’t like gist.github.com, pastie.org and dozens of other clones, I have practically sucked my mouth since I discovered it, and I was very upset to find that the site isn’t working.
