We want to brag with one more “update” - now you can deploy agent applications in the
Jelastic cloud with the help of the
-javaagent argument. Thanks to our friend Anton Arkhipov for offering to add this feature and, of course, to all users who actively voted for it on our site.
The Java agent acts as an “interceptor” in front of your main method, runs in the same JVM, is loaded by the same-system class clider, and obeys the same security rules and context. The idea is that agents do not run directly to solve the problem, but are activated independently. Now, agent applications are becoming increasingly popular and are used for monitoring and monitoring, procurement, data mining and analysis, and, of course, for personal use.
Let's take a look at how to use the
-javaagent argument in Jelastic. It is very simple - you need only two additional settings:
- Download the required jar file to the home folder of your application server.
- In the variables.conf file (server folder), specify the path to your jar file in accordance with the environment variables :
- for Tomcat 6 and 7 : /opt/tomcat/temp/my.jar ;
')
- for Jetty : /opt/jetty/home/my.jar ;
- for GlassFish : /opt/glassfish3/temp/my.jar . In this case, you need to go to the admin page and specify the path to the jar file in the JVM settings / JVM options :
That's all the settings!
