A few days ago, Adobe
introduced its new website,
html.adobe.com , dedicated to HTML, CSS and other web development tools.

At the moment, the site is not fully completed, in some places it is “coming soon”, but the existing content is of considerable interest.
The site contains three main sections:
Web Standards ,
Open Source Projects and
Tools & ServicesWeb Standards
')

Maybe not everyone knows, but Adobe is actively involved in the development of new web standards, as well as in improving existing ones.
Some of these developments are
CSS Regions ,
CSS Shaders, and
CSS Exclusions . The first two describe the new possible behaviors of textual content on a web page, such as non-standard rounding of objects or the formation of text in a magazine style, and CSS Excusions allows you to add cool effects to page markup. It is difficult to describe it with words, it is better to watch the demos or the video from
this article .
Open Source Projects
Here you can find projects supported by the company.

I think most of them know:
- Webkit is a browser engine that is used in the same Chrome and Safari, as well as in a number of mobile browsers. There, Adobe developers are actively developing promoting the above-mentioned CSS Regions, Exclusions and CSS Shaders, as well as SVG.
- jQuery Mobile - a popular and actively developing mobile framework
- Apache Cordova is a platform for creating native mobile applications using HTML, CSS and JavaScript. One of the products on this platform is PhoneGap .
Tools & Services
The most interesting section of the site is dedicated to various tools and services that make life easier for web developers.
Each of the tools to describe it makes no sense, for this it is better to do in a separate article, so just give a list of available.

Links to some of them (there are some pretty interesting things, maybe you didn’t know about them before):
Adobe edgeAdobe ProtoShadowAdobe BrowserLabPhonegapTypekitBusiness catalystAmong other things, on the main page there is a block with links that are aggregated from various resources (mainly from blogs.adobe.com), where you can find the latest news and articles about web development and Adobe products.

The same blocks are on the Web Standards and Open Source Projects pages, the links in them are relevant to the content of these sections.
I'm all for what. Many people know about Adobe, mostly only as the creator of Photoshop, Flash and Acrobat (programmers and geeks do not count, of course), but not everyone knows that this company actively promotes and participates in the development of web standards, is not fixated on flash , and promotes svg, develops the mobile web and creates convenient tools that significantly save time for developers.
