OT Routes - 8 New Cities and a Pedestrian Update

Today, Yandex.Maps for six Russian and two Ukrainian cities have earned a service for building routes on public transport.

We will name all new cities where it has become more convenient to navigate around the city on buses, trolley buses and trams: Vladivostok , Orenburg , Dnepropetrovsk , Tolyatti , Kirov , Kostroma , Ryazan and Nikolaev .

If you are a resident or guest of one of these cities, try the service in action. It is very easy to use. On Yandex.Maps, select the “Routes” tab, then “Transport” and specify the points of departure and destination. For example, to get from Fontannaya Street to 1st Morskaya Street in Vladivostok, you do not need a boat at all; on the minibus 57, the trip will take only 12 minutes.

If you are planning to go on a trip right now, turn on the “with traffic” mode to get to the place on free roads and more accurately imagine how long it will take on the road.

As for the service as a whole, we have another update. Pedestrian parts are always present in public transport routes - for example, you need to walk to a bus stop, make a transfer, or walk from the last bus stop to your destination. Now we draw a pedestrian fragment of the route as you have to go in reality - that is, along the streets, and not along a straight line. Thanks to this, by the way, the selection of travel options on public transport has become more accurate.
