Untethered unlock for iPhone on iOS 5.0 / 5.0.1 available

A hacker from China, Loktar_Sun, published a method of unlocking an iPhone with jailbreak using the SAM utility - Subscriber Artifitial Module. The method is confirmed and verified by a well-known developer MuscleNerd , whose unlock procedure was successful. It is worth noting that the activation code is generated only for one SIM-card, after its change it is required to repeat the simple procedure. Suitable for all baseband (modems).

Instruction:

1. Install SAM from Cydia. You can download the package from the repo.bingner.com repository.

2. Open the "Settings" and go to the application SAM .

3. Open the “Utilites” tab, click “De-Activate iPhone”, the ActivationState position should now show “Unactivated”

4. Restart the phone and now insert the AT & T SIM card. The phone will ask for activation, nothing terrible, the data and settings will not be erased. We connect to iTunes, the phone is activated.

4.1. If there is no AT & T SIM card, or the phone is locked to another operator, insert the SIM card you are planning to work with (for example, Megaphone), select “By Country and Carrier” in the “Method”, look for the carrier with which the smartphone had to work.

4.2. Go to “More Information”, rewrite the IMSI in “SAM Details”, and then click “Spoof Real SIM to SAM”. We take out AT & T sim card and insert the one with which the phone will work. Go to paragraph 6.

5. Open the SAM. In “Method” choose “Auto Detect”. Go to “More Information”, copy the IMSI in “SAM Details”, and then click “Spoof Real SIM to SAM”.

6. Go back to the first SAM screen and switch the “Method” to the “Manual” position (usually after the fifth step it already stands). Insert the IMSI line from the previous step.

Connect your iPhone to your computer and let iTunes activate it. Check ICCID in iTunes and on iPhone, they should match. If not, we start everything from the 1st step.

8. Disconnect the iPhone, close iTunes.

9. After that, deactivate SAM. You can even delete it.

10. Reconnect the iPhone to the computer. We see an error notifying of the iPhone activation error (Error " The SIM card installed in the Internet phone apparently does not have support " does not fit ). Close iTunes and open it again.

11. If everything went well, iTunes activates your phone and you will see the process of finding an operator. If the error reappears, restart iTunes.

12. To enable push notifications, go to SAM, click “clear push” and connect the smartphone to iTunes.
