Going into my soap mail, I was pleasantly surprised by one mail banner that brought me straight to the settings panel of my own mailbox:
http://e.mail.ru/cgi-bin/securityThere appeared a long-awaited opportunity to work mail via HTTPS:
[v] HTTPS
Allow mail to work only over secure HTTPS protocol.
Interestingly, they will also give out HTTPS pictures and banner ads, or is this just another attempt to throw dust in the eyes?
In the near future I will test the HTTPS-only functionality through Internet Explorer.
UPD1:Paradoxical as it may sound, but the
entrance to the main page of mylopoch by HTTPS
https://mail.ru/ is not provided.
UPD2:For example, by analogy with
Google Mail, one could at least just redirect to the same
https://e.mail.ru/cgi-bin/login when trying to directly access the “secure” mail
https://mail.ru/ (stupidly typing the address in the browser's address bar), because remembering "e.mail.ru/cgi-bin/login" is much more complicated than just "mail.ru"
