Webasyst Blog: a collective blogging application

Introducing the free blogging application (LGPL license) for blogging written in the Webasyst PHP framework:

The application is designed primarily for corporate use: for companies that maintain open (public) and closed (intra-corporate) blogs. The application allows you to keep all these blogs together in a single thread. The application can be interesting to bloggers who are tired of Wordpress their blog engine.

It supports all the basic functionality that is in popular engines: many blogs, comments, RSS, sitemaps, cat, frontend, backend, design editor, etc. There are some nice features, like, for example, the calendar of publications :

Flexible regulation of blog access rights:

One of the tasks of creating an application (apart from, of course, creating a convenient blog engine) was to make an application on the basis of the Webasyst framework, in a technical sense close to the new version of Shop-Script, which we are currently developing. During the development of the “Blog” we introduced new mechanisms into the framework:
- OAuth-user authorization adapters through external services (Facebook, Twitter, Google and Vkontakte),
- platform for developing plugins for applications. At the moment, the plug-ins for the Blog are not yet open, and we will present them in the near future (in the first installment there will be such plug-ins: tags, trolls, anti-spam, selected entries),
- made the first application, indicative of the creation of sites based on several applications: for now it is only the “ Site ” and “Blog” applications, but in the future there will be a photo gallery, an online store, a forum, helpdesk and others.

An example of a blog on the Webasyst framework site.

Download the Blog application (≈150 KB; open source PHP / MySQL / Webasyst framework). If you already have a Webasyst framework installation, you can install the Blog application in one click through the Installer. If not, here is the installation guide .

We welcome constructive criticism.
