Now in the IT field, everyone is fighting with everyone. Well, if not all, then the major market players are certainly fighting with each other, and this end-edge war is not visible. It has been said more than once that the current patent policy of many companies hinders the further development of technologies. And the entire patent system, which had previously worked well, in the IT field often fails. As a result, only the lazy is not suing. Patent trolls, large and small, patent wars and battles - now all this in abundance. For example, Apple and Samsung, Motorola MObility (read Google) and Apple, Facebook and Yahoo, plus Oracle and Google are fighting.
Twitter, apparently, will try not to participate in such conflicts. In any case, the management of the microblogging service has already declared that neutrality remains in patent wars. At the same time, the company does not give up on the technology patenting system itself. The management of the service said that various developments of Twitter would be patented, not for attack, but for defense. If someone wants to sue, then Twitter will meet the attacker fully armed.

The company even published a paper of its own composition, called the "
Innovator Patent Agreement (IPA) ". This document allows everyone to declare their own patent neutrality, while patenting their own developments. According to representatives of Twitter, such a document will be able to combine companies wishing to remain neutral.
Experts believe that this document will not be able to make any special changes in the alignment of forces, but the initiative is still positive. If most of the large and medium-sized players of the IT market would adhere to the rules described in the document, such conflicts would not exist now. In general, I would like to hope that the Twitter initiative will be heard and supported, and the document will be finalized and signed by many modern companies operating in the IT sector.
