The launch of Google Drive will take place in a week. All for 5 GB for free

According to Thenextweb.com , Google will launch its cloud storage service Google Drive next Tuesday or Wednesday. Each user will be allocated 5 GB of free space - two and a half times more than Dropbox, but twice less than Yandex Disk. The Google Drive client will run on Windows, Mac, iOS and Android.

One of the editors of TechCrunch.com, John Biggs, even managed to get the Google Drive client for Mac and install it. The version of the application is 1.0.2891, it starts up and connects to the Google account, but gives the error "Google Drive is not yet enabled for your account."

Google has been waiting for cloud storage from Google for several years - rumors about Google Drive or G-Drive have been around since 2006. Most of Google’s competitors in the operating system market have long since acquired similar services. Both Microsoft, and Apple, and Canonical have cloud storages for user data. Only relatively recently has the opportunity to upload arbitrary files to Google Docs via the web interface, without integration with the OS through the client software. If the information about the launch of Google Drive is confirmed, next week Google will eliminate this lag. The repository's web interface will be located at drive.google.com .
