codestre.am - terminal stream recording

Today I came across a very interesting service codestre.am , developed by LearnBoost .
The idea of this service probably arose among many.

The meaning of the project is the creation of instructional videos, only in the command line format, and with the ability to reproduce everything without reprinting words and letters, but simply copying them from the video itself.

The service is easy to use (something like ustream.tv) and is absolutely free.
The only thing that confused me was that to work with the service, you need to install the client node.js application

')
I am sure that developing a client application without using node.js can give it a very good popularity.
Despite its simplicity, it has everything you need:
- Simple registration / login via twitter
- Record ascii video
- Automatic loading and storage in the service
- View with the ability to rewind
- Separation into public and private videos, each video has a unique hash
- View / online viewing statistics

The first thing I wanted to test is the load on the processor during playback, surprisingly there are no problems with it.
Star Wars ASCII video with telnet towel.blinkenlights.nl

PS: While testing the service, I noticed that when the video is large, the rewind loads a little processor, but I think it can be relived.
