The father of the Internet calls to prevent a split of the web.

The inventor of the web, Sir Tim Berners-Lee (Tim Berners-Lee ) addressed the annual World Wide Web conference in Edinburgh, which opened on May 23, and urged not to allow the introduction of different prices for certain content categories on the Web, reports Lenta.Ru with reference to the BBC .

According to Tim Berners-Lee, it is very important to keep the Internet united. Google and Microsoft , who lobbied for the adoption of laws on the so-called “network neutrality” in the United States, which would legally establish the principle of equality of content that currently operates on the Internet, are in agreement with this. The fact is that some US telecommunications companies insist that charges for, for example, television traffic on the Internet be charged at prices that are different from other content.

Tim Bernes-Lee himself is optimistic about the development of the situation and hopes that network leaders will not allow Internet fragmentation.
