The cost of registering second-level domains in the zone .su reduced. The reduction in the cost of registration will be officially announced on September 19, 2007 at a press conference dedicated to the 17th anniversary of the domain zone, according to a press release from the Internet Development Fund.

Also at the press conference will announce the start date of registration of Cyrillic second-level domain names. This possibility was planned to be introduced back in 2000, but due to technical difficulties, the launch was postponed. After the start of registration of such domains in the .su zone, it is planned to open registration in other languages ​​of the countries of the former CIS, and in about a year it will be possible to register such a domain in the .ru zone
