Google Reader has left the walls of Google Labs!

Looks like Google has a big day today. Google Reader users, please note - the Labs logo has finally disappeared from the pages of the service! Google Reader is sent to the big world.

Here is what the developers wrote in their official blog (an appeal to the Google Labs team):

Parting is not hard.
We do not know how to tell you, but it's time to leave. Simply, we are now different. People can search. Can share read. They can even watch statistics about what they read and how often.
There are a lot of things we can do to make feed reading perfect. And this means that we are no longer on the way.

But do not be sad. We will always remember the good times: our first meeting, when we released a new interface together, and how we could sit and not say anything at all, because you are just a label ... ( meaning the prefix Labs on the Google Reader logo, thanks for tip, k_s and didaio - pon. )
')
When memories roll in and tears come to our eyes, we can even put on the record you made for us; that, with Pousla Cole and Gaster. We will think about you.

Today is a big day for us, we have learned to speak new languages. And, frankly, you do not translate well. But we both speak English, and we know that I and U are far apart in the alphabet. In real life, we are even further.

It's not about you. The point is us.

With love, Google Reader Team

So, the localization expected last week occurred (in Russian, it seems, as always, it is not), Google Reader has become even more interesting and more accessible to users. Hooray!

PS It seems that Google Labs itself, to which this sensible message is addressed, has not yet released Google Reader - the service is listed on its pages, the Labs logo is also present on the login page. I am sure this is not for long :)
