Yahoo buys Zimbra for $ 350 million

Zimbra is another Yahoo! investment web-based email service, based on open source and included in the Top 5 innovations of the year in the field.

Zimbra developers have demonstrated code that allows users to view mail, calendar and RSS feeds even when they are not connected to the web.

Apparently, Yahoo! tries to keep up with Google, which in turn promotes Google Gears technology, which allows working with web services while being offline.
