Many have seen the Project Glass video published last week - Google’s elegant augmented reality interface. It is unknown when such glasses will be on sale and whether they will appear at all, so some enthusiasts decided to take the initiative and do everything on their own.
The developer of augmented reality systems from Oxford, Will Powell (Will Powell) in a few days made a self-made version of Google Glassses and published a video of how it works.

The design used a pair of Vuzix glasses, Microsoft HD webcams, a headset with a microphone, and Dragon NaturallySpeaking speech recognition software. Yahoo Weather is used to download current weather information. The program can make appointments using speech recognition. Also, the device takes photos (by voice command) and publishes them on Google+.
The program itself is written using Adobe AIR with an interface close to that which was shown in a Google video.
True, Powell's glasses are completely opaque: in both eyes there are displays, they have a stereoscopic picture from two video cameras. In the commercial version of the glasses, you probably need to use translucent displays that have already appeared on the market.
