Zeno - a new generation toy

Hanson Robotics showed the public a new generation of toys. Robo-boy Zeno , the creation of which was spent 5 years and $ 1.5 million, is still not really able to take the first steps. But his face, made of a skin-like patented material called “frubber,” can take on different expressions, and his eyes blink and follow moving people.

According to the creator of the robot, David Henson, Zeno may well become not just a toy, but a true friend for the child, a reasonable companion capable of expressing different emotions and supporting a conversation. Interestingly, the processor that is not built into the toy is responsible for managing the functions of the robot. Instead, Zeno wirelessly communicates with a PC on which specialized software is installed, which is responsible for the behavior of the robot boy.

According to Hanson, after the completion of the robot (within three years), it will be available for sale at a price of $ 200 to $ 300.
