New "Transformers"

As part of the World Mobile Congress, ASUS has demonstrated an updated series of tablet computers Transformer. The release of several tablets for ASUS at once is a usual thing. Last year, the first Transformer appeared, the Eee Pad Slider and the Eee Pad Slate. In December 2011, the Eee Pad Transformer Prime TF201 was introduced - a logical development of the hybrid netbook-tablet. After just a few months, ASUS is announcing the release of ASUS Transformer Pad Infinity and ASUS Transformer Pad 300.

The specifics of the tablet-transformers ASUS lies in the freedom of choice. The user himself decides which particular use of the mobile device will be most convenient for him at the moment. New models of the ASUS Transformer series further expand the choice, since each of them is optimized for specific use cases. The devices are designed for different groups of users, differing in filling, appearance and price.

ASUS Transformer Pad Prime , already familiar to us, is the first tablet computer in the world with a quad-core NVIDIA Tegra 3 processor and Android 4.0 ICS operating system. The thin (only 8.3 mm) and light (586 g) metal case is made in the fashionable ZENBOOK ™ style. The high-quality Super IPS + display with fantastic brightness (600 cd / m2) allows you to read text comfortably even in sunlight. The best-rated ASUS SonicMaster technology is responsible for the excellent sound quality. All fans of the original "Transformer" new exactly like it.

Transformer Pad Infinity Series devices are great for entertaining mobile applications, thanks to the Super IPS + display with a resolution of 1920x1200. For comparison, Prime has a display resolution of 1280x800. Oddly enough, depending on the configuration, instead of NVIDIA Tegra, a Qualcomm MSM 8960 Snapdragon S4 Krait dual-core processor with a frequency of 1.5 GHz can be installed. The differences are due to the fact that so far only Qualcomm-crystals integrate LTE communications. Accordingly, the Transformer Infinity Pad will be available in versions with 3G / LTE connectivity (Qualcomm) and in versions with Wi-Fi (NVIDIA), the first come with 16, 32 or 64 GB of flash memory, while the second with 32 and 64 GB flash storage.

Thanks to the support of fourth-generation mobile networks (LTE), the tablet is capable of downloading data wirelessly at speeds up to 100 Mbps. For video conferencing, a 2-megapixel front-facing camera can be used, and a better 8-megapixel rear-facing camera is designed for taking photos and recording video.

Another difference from the “Prime” is a strong second-generation Corning Gorilla Glass protective glass, which is 20% thinner while maintaining the initially stated characteristics of strength and resistance to scratches and mechanical stress.

The Transformer Pad 300 series is tablet computers for young and active users. The directionality is underlined by a bright coloring - tablets are available in blue, white and red cases. Pad 300, in addition to the usual 3G and Wi-Fi, supports the fourth-generation LTE wireless standard. NVIDIA Tegra 3 is responsible for performance (with a separate and optional LTE modem), 16 GB of flash memory, and the battery life is up to 10 hours on its own and up to 15 hours with a keyboard docking station. Thickness is 9.9 mm, weight is 635 g.

Experiments are continuing with the color of the hull of new models. Previously, it was necessary to choose between gray (silver) and gold (ocher). The Transformer Pad 300 is available in blue, white and red.

Entry into the Russian market of models from the series ASUS Transformer Pad Infinity and ASUS Transformer Pad 300 is expected in May-June of this year. Recommended retail prices - from 26,000 rubles and from 17,490 rubles, respectively.
