Samsung announces high-speed SD cards

Now, when the performance of the hardware core, even in smartphones, is very high, manufacturers have taken up storage devices, most of which are still the weak link in the entire information chain. One of the solutions to the problem of slow writing / reading information are solid-state drives - most of the owners of laptops and PCs who switch to solid-state drives do not return to hard drives. As for memory cards, the performance of most of these devices leaves much to be desired.

But manufacturers are constantly trying to solve this problem. For example, Samsung introduced its own microSD, with high speed reading and writing. Reading information for these cards is about 80 MB / s, which is four times higher than that of memory cards presented last year. The volume of new cards - 16 GB. Interestingly, for some reason, the recording speed of the company has not been announced.

These cards are compatible with the UHS-1 (Ultra High Speed ​​– 1) interface. According to the developers, they are needed mostly for mobile devices equipped with an LTE wireless communication module. We are talking about smartphones and tablets of the new generation. The memory cards in question will be released this month, at the end of April.

It would, of course, be nice if inexpensive and fast memory cards appeared on the market. The large amounts of information with which we all now have to work (including media files, of course) are an incentive for the emergence of low-cost, fast and capacious storage media for mobile (and not only mobile) devices.
