Windows 8. Application Excellence Labs

Friends, we are pleased to announce a unique opportunity to spend up to 4 hours 1: 1 in the company of an engineer from Microsoft for testing and discussing your Metro style app for Windows 8.

At the entrance, you must have a working Metro style app for Windows 8 that has been internally certified by Visual Studio (Windows App Certification Kit).

In the course of the lab, you can go through additional testing of your application in different scenarios and discuss with Microsoft how to improve your application, optimize its performance, adapt to different screen resolutions and follow the patterns and principles of Windows 8 design.

At the exit, you will receive a report with recommendations on how to improve your application. And the best applications, we will help to be among the first in the Windows Store ;-)

How to get to the lab?

From the description above you should have already understood that this is a very, very compact format with a very limited number of lucky participants. Therefore, among those who want to get to the lab we will conduct an additional selection:

• Prior to April 13, you must send a preliminary application to the email: rush4apps@microsoft.com with the title “[W8 AEL] Name of your application”. In the letter, describe your application: what tasks it solves and for what audience it is designed, as well as contacts for communication.
• Until April 18, send to the same address and with the same heading a letter containing:
  
  • Application Description
  • Screenshots of the main screens of the application
  • Test results via WACK
  • Link to the application installation package for testing
• Until April 20, Microsoft experts will select the best applications, the authors of which will receive an invitation to laboratory work.

The sooner you send your application and data on the application, the higher the chances of getting to the lab.

The better you follow the principles and patterns of Metro style app design, the higher the odds.

The more efficient and useful your application, the higher the chances.

Important

Be prepared for the fact that if you qualify, you will need to come to our Moscow office (17 Krylatskaya St.) at the appointed time slot (4 hours before or after lunch) on the appointed day (Monday to Friday 23 -27 April) and we practically will not have the opportunity to change these slots.

The sooner you send the application and go through the selection, the better.

(We are working to make the remote scenario possible, but so far we cannot guarantee anything.)

We will hold 2 more events in this format in May and June. However, early birds have a better chance of being the first;)
