The future is near!
This week, we (in particular, our LG Display division, the creators of Retina) are launching mass production of innovative flexible screens for e-reader gadgets, in other words, “readers.”

Our engineers developed the world's first EPD (Electronic Paper Display), which without loss of quality and properties of the e-ink screen is located on a plastic substrate, while all competitive solutions use glass (before that there were other "plastic" solutions, but they one way or another, according to quality characteristics, they lost to “glass”).

The display can be bent at an angle of 40 degrees, without any risk of breakage. This is the thinnest and lightest of the currently available EPD displays - the thickness is only 0.7 millimeters, weight - 14 grams, which is a third thinner and almost twice as light as the nearest competitive EPD display.
The screen size is 6 inches, and the resolution is 1024 by 768 pixels.
Among other features of the display, it is possible to distinguish the impact resistance comparable to Gorilla Glass and maintaining the operating temperature from -25 to +350 degrees Celsius.
The purchase of the displays was attended by several major manufacturers of e-readers (for the time being we cannot say exactly who - the announcements from them will follow separately).
The first products based on our technology will appear in China as early as this month, and the first shipments to Europe will begin in late April.
Queue for flexible LED and OLED!
