Kyiv.py # 6. A small IMHO meeting report

Despite the date, the event was not a joke, although I was driving with some distrust :) The 6th KyivPy did take place and, in general, went well. Almost all the reports were fresh and interesting and almost all the speakers expressed their thoughts well and affordably.

Before proceeding, I can not talk about some organizational flaws. Either I am so spoiled, or it’s like a norm, but ... Despite the announcement at DOU , I personally thought that only those who really wanted to know about the upcoming event knew about the upcoming event. Nifiga is not an informative site ua.pycon.org , on which even after the fact there is no roadmap ʻa event, DOU itself, on which there is neither a map, nor recommendations how to get to the business center in principle (some were forced to ask again on Twitter “How to get there”) - all this is somehow strange. Well, not the underground meeting of the ultra-right :) On the other hand, many, apparently, were not there for the first time and felt at home. Apparently, for such guests and calculated, on the way and near the center there was not a single sign or index KyivPy. Where toilets, smoking rooms, where you can and where you can not go to Ciklum - myself, my dear, myself. Well, okay ... But there was no problem with wi-fay, as it usually happens :)

Speaking of Ciklum . They have a typical corporate-faceless website, according to which it is not at all clear what exactly the company is doing, but if you believe the title, then IT outsourcing for a western brother. Office of the week according to The Village, by the way. Photos can be viewed separately , I will not duplicate here. It was under their wing that this meeting took place. Under their wings in general, a lot of all kinds of parties pass, we must go more often.

What really surprised me was the number of girls. There were a lot of them! Here are the girls, only the linux-like pythons :)



For myself, noted the report about MongoDB, interesting rakes with performance and scalability were highlighted ...



"If we started doing it first, we would do it on PostgreSQL."



Very cool talk about descriptors. Remember what this person looks like and what his name is (Alexey Kachaev). This is a knowledgeable person.



It would seem - the usual things with setters and getters, but how interesting! :)



And deploy projects (I love this topic). Django / Flask and generally WSGI. Comparative analysis of Heroku, ep.io, DotCloud and Amazon EC2 by price / quality. The conclusion is that Amazon drives, but requires more knowledge (logical).
