“Bankfax” failed to close

The criminal prosecution of the Altai Internet commentator “Brothers” was discontinued due to the absence of corpus delicti. The decision was made in the department for investigating particularly important cases of the Prosecutor’s Office of the Altai Territory, which from February to July investigated the circumstances of the publication of a comment to the Siberian Directorate of Rosokhrankultura published on the Bankfax website and offered media managers under the threat of persecution during the so-called “cartoon scandal” refuse to publish materials of a certain orientation.

In the course of the investigation, which was conducted by the department for the investigation of particularly important cases of the regional prosecutor’s office with the participation of employees of the FSB department in the Altai Territory, the identity of the Internet commentator was established using the questionnaires filled out by him on various websites, and he was involved in the case under art. 282 of the Criminal Code. In parallel with this, Rosokhrankultura according to the fact that the “Bratka” commentary in the Zheleznodorozhny District and Altai Krai courts was undergoing a civil process demanding that Bankfax news agency be closed on charges of extremist activity. As a result, the requirements of Rosokhrankultura were rejected in full by the Altai Kray Court, but now the department is trying to appeal this decision by appealing to the Supreme Court of Russia, Banfax reports.
