Google proposes to create a global standard of privacy

The main collector and custodian of "all the information of the world" - Google Inc. - is clearly tired of being reproached for violating someone else's privacy. Claims against Google are expressed not only by human rights organizations, but also by some governments. To dot the “i”, the company proposes to clearly formulate the rules of this unfortunate privacy, in order to understand what it really is.

Google’s privacy strategy will be announced today at a UNESCO conference on human rights. Peter Fleischer will give a speech there. He explains that the meaning of the new initiative of the search giant is to organize the cooperation of private firms and the public sector in order to work out generally accepted standards, which will be partly spelled out in the laws, and partly formed through self-regulation.

Why self-regulation? Because society, according to Google, over time can greatly soften their demands for privacy. Over time, people can understand that it is beneficial for them to open their personal data as much as possible (except for the credit card number, of course).

The main principles of the global privacy standard have already been formulated by experts from the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Organization (APEC). It is their company that Google proposes to take as a basis when developing a global standard.

3. Notification.
4. Security measures.
5. Restrictions on the collection of information.
6. Access and fixes.
7. Ways to use personal information.
8. Reporting.
9. Choice.
