New SimCity will work only when connected to the web
Personally, I well understand those gamers who are awaiting the appearance of a new version of SimCity, adapted to modern hardware. Once I played SimCity for several months in a row (I don’t remember the version anymore), and the game impressed me with great attention to detail from the developers. Now I’m practically not playing at all, but the other day there came to be information that a new version of this simulator of a town planner should be released soon. In this case, the toy will differ from previous versions not only in the graphics or the scale of the game world. There are other differences.
For example, the toy will be available only to gamers whose PCs and laptops are connected to the web. This is not a rumor, but a statement from Stone Librand’s lead designer. He said that the constant connection to the Network is due to the new conditions of the game, the model of the economic infrastructure. So, different players will be able to occupy neighboring territories, and different cities will influence each other. For example, if someone builds an industrial complex that discharges toxic waste, the neighboring city will take on the negative consequences of the influence of a “dirty” neighbor. ')
This kind of interaction will be quite a lot, and without a permanent connection to the Network it will be impossible to get a complete picture of their neighbors and their actions. Thus, the Internet is needed for the constant calculation of the interaction of regions, players, and their actions. Any noticeable actions of the player, or events occurring in the city, will be reflected in the appearance of the settlement. How it will all look like is not very clear.
The developers, in their own words, are going to make the simulator even more detailed than previous versions of the game, but even an unprepared player can play the new SimCity. It is clear that he will become a good city planner only after a long workout, but the initial level of the game is not as complicated as one might think.
