PlayStation 4 may not be compatible with games from previous PS versions.

Despite the fact that Sony is silent about its next-generation gaming console (work is underway), journalists in the games and gadgets world still manage to get information, albeit bit by bit. Recently, the famous gaming blog Kotaku published information about the PS4. This information, as always, went to blog workers from "authoritative, but anonymous sources." In general, the published data is interesting, and a bit unexpected. For example, there is a high probability that PS4 will not be able to play games from PS3.

The working title of the project, Orbis, is already known. Translated from Latin, it means "circle" or "disk" or "Earth." Latin words, as we remember, were used when creating the project name of the portable game console “PS Vita”.

As for the configuration of this game console, it is known that Cell processors will not be used in it. Instead, the developers decided to give preference to AMD processors. The graphics system will allow you to run regular games with a resolution of 4096x2160, and 3D games - with 1080p resolution. As in the PS3, the new gaming console has a Blu-ray drive. In addition, the game can be and simply download from the network SEN (PSN). Games purchased on discs will still have to be tied by the buyer to their PSN account.

After the "binding" the game can be saved on the hard disk. Most games will require access to the Internet (in general, this is relevant now).

As for the appearance of this gaming console on the market, then most likely, PS4 will be announced in 2013.
