New mouse from Microsoft for laptops
Microsoft introduced three new wireless mice for mobile PCs. It is a compact Bluetooth Notebook Mouse 5000, a Wireless Notebook Laser Mouse 7000 with a four-way scroll wheel and a Mobile Memory Mouse 8000, the transceiver of which is also a 1 GB flash drive.
The dimensions of the Bluetooth Notebook Mouse 5000 are only 58 × 93 mm. The mouse is equipped with a Bluetooth interface for connecting to a laptop (if there is an adapter in the laptop, then no transceiver is required) and four buttons (in addition to the standard ones, there is a “Back” button that facilitates web navigation). The range is 10 meters, the period of work on one battery charge is three months, however, provided that the device is turned off during moments of “idle”. The cost of Bluetooth Notebook Mouse 5000 is $ 50.
The Wireless Notebook Laser Mouse 7000 uses a radio signal at a frequency of 2.24 GHz (range of 10 meters) as a wireless interface. The functionality of this mouse is slightly higher than that of the Bluetooth Notebook Mouse 5000, since it is equipped with an additional button to call the Flip 3D function in Windows Vista, and the scroll wheel can work in four directions. The battery life is also more - six months. But the cost is exactly the same - $ 50.
The most interesting from the point of view of usability of the device, Mobile Memory Mouse 8000, differs in that the transceiver of this mouse in combination is also a 1 GB flash drive. The 8,000th one can work either over a radio signal or via Bluetooth. The buttons on the Mobile Memory Mouse 8000 are five, the battery life is six months, and the cost is $ 100.
