Firefox 13 will not work with outdated versions of Windows

Representatives of Mozilla the other day made an interesting statement regarding the support of the new version of Firefox, Firefox 13, in older versions of Windows. In this case, "outdated versions" are considered not 95, 98, etc., but Windows 2000, Windows XP and XP SP1.

Starting with Windows XP SP2, Firefox 13 will already work. Of course, with newer OS this browser will work. According to the developers, this measure will improve the performance of Firefox. The release of the new version is scheduled for June 4 of this year, so that all Windows XP users who work with Mozilla software are advised to deliver the update packages necessary for the browser to work soon.

Currently, XP remains the most popular OS (at least, at the beginning of the year it was such). Despite all attempts by Microsoft to encourage users to switch to Windows 7, many simply do not see the point in the transition (or this transition is economically disadvantageous, in the case of some companies).

Mozilla also announced its intention to stop supporting Firefox 3.6 from the end of April this year (to be exact, from April 24). Within a few weeks, Mozilla will release the latest version of the browser branch 3.6.x, it will be version 3.6.28. Other versions of this branch will not be released.
