Today it became known about the decision of the court of Tokyo, which prohibits Google search tips for residents of Japan. According to the court, such clues are a direct violation of the laws on the right to privacy of Japanese citizens. Interestingly, the trial began with a minor at first glance incident. One Japanese filed a complaint against Google, because when you entered his last name into the search box, there was an auto-suggestion linking that Japanese’s last name with a murder committed by another person with that same name.
This led to the fact that the Japanese were fired, and in addition, he could not find a new job. Every time his name was driven into a search engine, that very clue jumped out. the man was so sick of it all that he went to court. The lawyers of the Japanese checked all possible combinations of the search related to his last name and found out that the ill-fated hint really arises in conjunction with the name of the defendant.

The Tokyo court sided with the plaintiff, and decided to ban Google from using search tips for Japanese residents. The problem, however, is that the Corporation of Good has no official representation in the capital of Japan, and therefore the decision of the Japanese does not play a special role. The Corporation believes that there is no violation of Japanese law, and the developers will take no action. At least for now.
Nevertheless, the Japanese, offended by the Google search service, are not going to stop there. He has already stated that he will demand compensation for moral damage. And such compensation, in the case of Google, can be rather big.
