20% of the Russian hosting market ranked RBC
OJSC RBC Information Systems announces the consolidation of hosting assets, under which it acquired five hosting companies and bought out the shares of its partners in Hosting Center LLC and Ukraine-Host LLC. As a result of the transactions, RBC became the owner of the following companies in the hosting and domain registration market in Russia: Hosting Center, Tsentrohost, Garant-Park Telecom (including the domain registrar R01), Speysweb, Peter Host, Arbatek, Ukrainian Hosting provider host.com.ua.
After consolidating the acquired assets, RBC became the undisputed leader in the hosting market in Russia. The total number of serviced sites is about 100 thousand or more than 20% of the Russian hosting market. Currently, more than 900 thousand domains are registered in the domain zone RU. By the number of registered domains, RBC ranks second in Russia after RosNIIRos and serves more than 215,000 domains, which is approximately 23% of the domain registration market.
As expected, the cumulative turnover of acquired companies in 2007 will reach $ 11 million, with an average EBITDA margin of 30%. At the same time, the average purchase multiplier for P / EBITDA companies was 7.2. It is planned that in the coming years, the growth rate of the RBC hosting business will be approximately 40%.

The acquired assets are consolidated under the management of Mediamir LLC, a subsidiary of RBC, which is engaged in the development of mass Internet services. According to Mikhail Gurevich, General Director of Mediamir, “The consolidation of hosting assets and the synergistic effect of interaction with RBC will allow achieving high rates of revenue growth and increasing business profitability by combining marketing efforts and offering complex services to customers. We look forward to an increase in the profitability of hosting and domain registration services, also through the introduction of a cluster technology platform and the pooling of accumulated knowledge and experience. ”
