The cameras located here and there on western highways and streets have long been known. They allow without the participation of the police to fix the facts of the violation and, if necessary, greatly facilitate the process of finding the guilty drivers. However, progress is not in place: US officials from San Francisco have initiated the emergence of automated video cameras installed on local buses.
The task of these cameras is to identify car owners who violate traffic rules, occupying the lane intended exclusively for public transport and hindering the passage of buses. When an intruder is detected, the camera fixes the license plates and automatically “writes out” the car owner a $ 100 fine.
And everything, as they say, is nothing, but in the law, signed by the local governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, there is one almost imperceptible, but rather interesting point. According to him, employees of the Municipal Transport Agency receive full access to the personal data of the recorded violators present in the archives of the Office of Road Transport. There is an opinion that such a state of affairs will not in the best way affect the security of Americans.
However, in some European and Asian countries, such technologies have been operating for several years. No complaints yet.
