
The Hebrew University of Jerusalem finishes scanning and online manuscripts of Albert Einstein. Now on the
Einstein Archives Online website about 3000 scanned images are presented, by the end of this year their number will grow to 7000. The full archive of Einstein exceeds 80,000 records, including letters, travel notes and other personal documents, such as a
school certificate .
All documents are recognized and indexed for
full-text database search . Now there are about 43,000 documents in the index, by the end of the year the base will be complete.
The picture above shows a fragment of the article “E = mc
2 : The most urgent problem of our time,” the manuscript in German. The article was published in the journal Science Illustrated, 1946. It is interesting that the famous formula is found in only three manuscripts of Einstein.
