I am writing this mini-post, still being impressed by the recent discovery:
Not all sections of microsoft.com can be accessed without Internet Explorer!
I tried to turn on updates for Microsoft products in Windows Update.
Click “Get updates for other Microsoft products. Additional information "- no result. But after this link I had to accept the terms of use for Microsoft Update!
I was confused until my colleague suggested - what if the link is trying to open in IE?
Most of all, it was the “silent” ignoring of the link that alerted without any errors, warnings, etc.
From this I conclude - Windows, sometimes, is demanding for the presence of IE, and leave it "just in case."

PS if it was my cant, then I will be grateful to the one who will explain the CHyaDT.

At the beginning of the history of IE, along with some other components was removed, because they did not use.

The operating system is Windows 7 Ultimate (Russian) x64.
