Good news! Bitcasa starts up and gives you infinite space for files! 
Reference: Bitcasa is an analogue of Dropbox, but initially aimed to give unlimited disk space. At the moment there are clients for Mac OS X and Windows, the version for Linux in the “Coming soon ...” stage, whether there will be clients for mobile devices yet.
Now registration is by invitation only, or by request for pre-registration (as in my case). Each user is issued 10 invitations.
