Good day% habrauser%!
Most recently, I wrote a
post about POST cards , is tautology a good ;-)?
In it, I promised to write a sequel if the topic is interesting, and since the topic really turned out to be interesting for the habrovans I continue!

')
Actually a subject

As I mentioned in the comments to my
first article , I ordered cards
for myself -
this one for laptops and
this one for desktops .
The order was placed in the twentieth of January (I cannot specify exact dates, it was not me who was engaged in ordering, tracking and receiving). This map came the other day, laptop, the desktop has to wait. Here I want to express some indignation -
1) Ordered cards were one order, go differently (I hope that the second one is still going, and not lost);
2) Delivery time! Of course, I can understand, they had Chinese New Year, but the month of the move (judging by the date on the parcel post) is too much, especially in conjunction with the fact that they completed three (
THREE ) weeks!
3) Dilastream takes about 200 rubles for issuing a parcel track, the track itself is free and is assigned to each parcel, so the verdict is the huckster!
At these points, my indignation ends, and I begin the review.
The card came in a parcel bag, inside the parcel post is glued by a
generator of peace of mind , the card itself is packaged in it and in anti-static, so the Chinese approach the packaging issues thoroughly. In anti-static we have the card itself, USB cable and User Manual.
Go ahead.
This card is designed for mini PCI and also has (
not intended, why read further) a port for LPT, USB is needed to power the card. The first thing I wanted to do was to test it naturally! But there is no laptop at hand, so I decided to test it with LPT port with pure thoughts.
Actually stuck the card

When powering the card shows "-" and "FF".
Turn on the car

Then

Then the card changes the image several times, and again the “FF00” system was booted. Reasonable question and the desire to find out what kind of codes flashed, makes us make a simple conclusion that two single buttons allow you to scroll through the codes, and voila! So it is, poking the button, see

Now on the left panel is the sequence number of the POST code, on the right the code itself. (out of order for the beginning is repeated)

Tyk button

Tyk again

Tyk again

Once again

And again

And a little bit more

Here is the last

Here we go to one interesting point and not the most impressive conclusion.
An interesting point is the User manual, at the very beginning of the manual we have the designation of LEDs

"+5 volts" is lit all the time while the mother is on, it is logical for USB ;-)
"+3.3 volts" is the same power indicator as "+5 volts" does not light when there is no power on the PCI slot (or the mother does not support, the couple did not understand the exact translation, in the original <the same as "+5". It is unlit when some motherboard has this power on PCI slots>)
“FRAME” lights when the “FRAME” signal is active.
FRAME (I / O)
Contact A34
The FRAME signal is issued by the current main PCI bus subscriber. FRAME transition to low, i.e. active, the layer initiates the addressing phase. To indicate the last data phase, the final bus cycle, the main subscriber must deactivate FRAME again.
“CLK” is lit when the “CLK” signal is active.
CLK (O)
Contact B16
Through this contact, a PCI timer signal is transmitted that accompanies all PCI operations. In accordance with the technical requirements, its frequency lies in the range from 0 to 33 MHz.
"RSET" lights up during reboot
"+12" we include formal logic
"-12" includes formal logic
"-5" is the same as "+3.3 volts"
Code decryption
BIOS on mother Phoenix.
FF in my cases is the presence of +5 on USB
A5 in the manual is not specified (just empty)
AA waiting to press F2
55 enable USB devices
04 get CPU type
The photos are lit "+5 volts"
So, “an interesting moment, in the manual there is a table with all the codes to the Finkx, AMishnaya Avardavsky BIOS-am,“ not the most impressive conclusion ”is that on LPT the card drives complete nonsense!
Speaking of the manual, there are 28 pages of A6 format with the purest information on POST codes, speaker signal designations and CMOS operation. I’ll take care of the transfers in the near future, and present it to the HB community, but I think to wait for the desktop card to make a consolidated manual.
I am waiting for the second card and the laptop martyr for full-fledged tests and reviews. I translate and smoke the manual.
PS Sunday is the sixth hour of the morning, maybe I missed something. Questions in the comments, if necessary supplement.
The PPS article was written in realtime, “on the fly,” while he was writing, Fota reloaded.
In preparing the article used two quotes
from hereAll good! And good for you!
