The main camera uses the same sensor as the iPhone 4 - 5 megapixel CMOS Omnivision OV5650. The Qualcomm RTR8600 transceiver is responsible for radio communication, and the Qualcomm MDM9600 acts as a 3G / 4G modem. The modem is essentially an all-band, but the transceiver limits LTE operation on American frequencies, apparently in European models there will be another transceiver.



GLONASS support has not yet been announced, but judging by the Qualcomm radio chipsets, there is support at the hardware level.



For the difficulty of repairing the iPad 3 received 2 points out of 10 (where 10 is the easiest to repair), iFixit noted the following advantages and disadvantages during the repair.

Pros:

• The LCD display is easily removed after the front panel is removed.
• The battery is not soldered to the motherboard, which slightly simplifies its replacement.

Minuses:

• Like the iPad 2, the front panel is glued, which greatly increases the chances of damaging the glass when it is removed.
• All parts are glued.
• The screen is glued to the front panel with foam tape.
• You cannot access the front panel connector without removing the screen.
