Avast Mobile Security for Android Review

Last summer, there was information that Avast will release a version for Android.

I admit, I was a little skeptical about this information. Because I had experience installing anti-viruses for Linux Desktop systems to protect these very systems. And did not see from this whole sense. Behavioral analyzer was not. Test rootkits were freely installed in the system, etc. In general, one disappointment. But my innate curiosity did not give me rest, and I decided to install this miracle on my tablet. The result pleased me. Especially considering that the application is free. And the most interesting is available for owners of root-access to their android-devices.

First of all, I was immediately interested in the Firewall. He demanded root privileges. And I have them! So I, without hesitating a second, poked at him.



Excellent: you can create rules for all installed applications. Just what I dreamed about back in Ubuntu ( and still dream ).

I decided to check how it works. Blocked Skype. The result is expected: I could not go online until I unblocked it in Firewall. Beauty and more!

If you remember, when installing applications through the market, the user is informed what rights will be granted to the application. It is these rights that the antivirus does not like. I, too, would not like this functionality from a regular book. But I was reluctant to delete them. Although it was suggested in the drop-down list when choosing a threat:



So I just used the Firewall and blocked them. If they collect information about me, they will not be able to convey.

Most of the questions arose modulo Anti-Theft (in Russian: the anti-theft module; sounds somewhat crooked. Probably for this reason, it was not translated by the developers of the application)





In the course, countering the theft is carried out through the removal of all data from the device. So I decided not to experiment with it for now and leave it to more curious readers.
