As stated earlier, our “E1 Euphrates” system provides the opportunity to work simultaneously with several different DBMS, implementing the principle of cross-platform.
The first relational database management system (not counting, of course, the NIKA DBMS) with which Microsoft SQL Server 2005/2008 was able to ensure integration. This DBMS has shown itself as the most universal and not problematic. For speed of search and for solving the problems of integrating information systems through a DBMS, the structured data of a document is decomposed into the corresponding fields of the relational database tables. XML capabilities of MS SQL Server showed worse performance in search queries. For full-text search, the built-in database capabilities are used. The second stage we have connected Oracle. From the point of view of functionality, everything was not bad there, but we were tortured with administration. In addition, on a simple gland on the volumes of about a million documents MS SQL Server decently gains in performance.
We will keep up to date on the development of E1 capabilities on various DBMSs.
