Hello! The week was rich in updating projects, meet another one - beloved Habrastorage .
The first version of the service was written by one of our programmers almost in the bus. For several years the site from one button served thousands of users faithfully. Now this is the “image basis” of Habr - all the images from posts and comments live on Habrastorage.

Prior to this, the loader worked on Flash technology - only it allowed to do a multi-apload, but at the same time inserted a lot of sticks into the wheels. From now on, no flash: only cross-platform HTML5, only hardcore!
You can upload a file from any device, be it a laptop, tablet or smartphone. Moreover, you can either select files from the disk in the old fashioned way, or drag new images to any area of ​​the site. Even if some images are already uploaded, drag new ones: they will be added to the list of downloaded files.
We have tried to preserve the former simplicity of the site, to which many have become accustomed - it still represents one button. Just fill in the picture and immediately get two links: direct or with a tag to insert into the post.
But based on my own experience of creating posts, something was added. Namely, the ability to copy all the links to all (or only marked) downloaded files at once. There are two formats to choose from: direct links or HTML codes for images.
In due time many good posts on Habré were killed due to the fact that the pictures uploaded to the “unprepared” site stopped loading in a week. Or a few minutes after the publication - under the influence of habraeffekt. And how many letters to the support team wrote to us that “You have a virus in this article” due to the fact that someone uploaded the pictures to some left photohosting.
Habrastorage is not like that. Pictures are always quickly uploaded to the service and just as quickly displayed to all readers of your posts.
Almost all of our projects switched to TM ID. Instead of a war with the authorization form and the captcha, we press one button and, as the French say, voilĂ !
The only thing you want to pay attention to is not a photo hosting site for storing photos from vacation - we have neither photo albums, nor followings, nor even likes. Nothing extra, no advertising.
