"Yandex" introduced the navigation service

Yandex has introduced a navigation service for smartphones. The company said this on March 13 at a special press conference.



The free Yandex.Navigator application is available for smartphones and tablets on iOS and Android platforms. It allows you to build car routes taking into account traffic jams. At the same time, the application will “guide” the driver with the help of voice prompts.



Total application can build routes to 519 cities of Russia and Ukraine.



The service allows you to specify as a destination as a specific address and organization. The application offers the user two ways - optimal in time and optimal in mileage. In case the car leaves the selected route, the application automatically rebuilds the path. Also, the route will be rebuilt if the traffic situation changes dramatically - for example, if an accident happens on the way. At the same time, the application will warn the user about the route adjustment.

The developers emphasize that some efforts were spent on improving the smoothness of the animation in the application. At the same time, the previously existing Yandex.Maps application will remain accessible to users, but in the future Yandex will not exclude the merging of these two services.
