Twitter seems to be the first of the non-Google sites to implement SPDY protocol support on its servers . This innovative protocol allows to reduce the delay in the transfer of data via HTTP, significantly increasing the speed of loading web pages.
SPDY is supported in Chrome and Firefox 11 browsers (it is disabled by default in Firefox). Although the protocol is open and already proposed as a base for HTTP / 2.0 , so far only Google has supported it from large Internet sites. Due to this, Gmail, Google Docs and Google+ work faster in the Chrome browser than in other browsers. Now the same can be said about Twitter.
