Once I needed to find a letter from one of my acquaintances in order to recall the thread of conversation and refresh in my memory some facts of that conversation. Using the Gmail search service, I entered a friend's name in the search bar, and the service saw me a complete list of our correspondence, as expected. But in the first position there was a letter not related to our conversations. What interested me!
As it turned out, one of the Ukrainian banks decided to congratulate me on the New Year.
And along with my friend, as well as 6783 recipients in clear text.

So, I received as a gift a database of addresses for 6783 contacts, of which 867 are employees of different branches of the bank, which indicates the approximate number of employees at that time and the size of the bank itself. There are also several dozens of corporate addresses, organizations that used the services of the bank, and, of course, addresses of ordinary bank customers.
This letter dated December 2010, I also found a letter that I received exactly one year later, in December 2011, the greeting was already personal! That says that the bank has taken the right path. Looking forward to this year!
In this article, I decided to remind you on the eve of the holidays, how easy it is to make a mistake when doing business mass mailings, you need to take care of the security of each client, write personal congratulations, if possible.
