We tried to build the program in such a way as to cover all the main scenarios of using System Center 2012 to create and manage private clouds. Let's start with a technical review of Windows Server “8”, a
beta version of which was available for download two days ago. We will focus on the capabilities of the new Hyper-V, including NIC Teaming, Live Migration without cluster structures, Hyper-V Replica.
')
Then, briefly and without fanaticism, we will discuss what Microsoft means by private clouds, and how System Center 2012 helps us in implementing this information. Let's go from the bottom up:
- How VMM 2012 manages infrastructure components (servers, clusters, networks, storage) and how it uses bare metal to deploy new nodes;
- as in VMM 2012, group the available data center resources listed above in the form of private clouds and delineate access to them, as this looks like working with different vendors' hypervisors (Microsoft, VMware, Citrix);
- using Service Manager 2012 to organize and standardize applications for allocating data center resources and launching applications, how it looks to the user, how Orchestrator 2012 helps automate such processes;
- how VMM 2012 deploys applications using the service template, as such applications are then updated;
- Finally, how Operations Manager 2012 helps with proactive monitoring: from network equipment to specific applications; as in conjunction with Orchestrator and System Manager, you can automatically resolve emerging issues or create incidents to attract IT specialists.
We hope it will be interesting!
