Police in Chile, Argentina, Colombia and Spain detained 25 activists from the hacker group Anonymous, according to BBC News.
Arrested from 17 to 40 years, they have withdrawn more than 250 units of network and mobile equipment. As reported in the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Spain, the Spanish law enforcement authorities detained four people in Madrid and in Malaga. Two of them, including a minor, were later released on bail. According to the Spanish police, one of the remaining under arrest is the coordinator of the attacks Anonymous in Spain and Latin America. The whole operation was coordinated by Interpol. The reason for it were cyber attacks on Chilean and Colombian government Internet resources. In particular, the work of the websites of the President and the Ministry of Defense of Colombia and the National Library of Chile was paralyzed.
