How does it work in a Google office in Zurich?

image Last week, I posted a post about a Google office in Zurich. In the comments, many habrovchan asked about the workflow in Google and about life in Zurich.

Unfortunately, I could not answer these questions, as I was just a guest. But, since there is an interest in this topic - I agreed with Nikolay, who was just my guide to Google office.
He will answer the questions of the habrasoobshchestva directly about working in an evil corporation and about moving from Russia to Switzerland.

UPD. There were more questions than I expected. Therefore, it takes more time to answer. I will post the answers in this thread, and not write in the form of comments - because the questions are often repeated.

Briefly about our hero:

In 2007 he graduated from the Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics of Moscow State University. Lomonosov, almost immediately after graduation, got a job in the Russian office of Google for the position of Software Engineer. After working for 3 years in Russia, he decided to move to Switzerland. The main incentive is raising living standards and wages.
Now he lives in Zurich for 1.5 years with his wife, working in the position of Software Engineer on the project Panoramio. No plans to return to Russia.

You can ask any questions. About work, about the daily routine, about the presence of certain social benefits or disadvantages, about the product and tools that Google uses.
You can also ask questions about moving from Russia to Switzerland, about the difficulties that an emigrant may face and their decision.
About how to get a job in Google and what are the requirements for the applicants.

In general, ask everything that interests you - Nikolai will try to answer.

The format is standard: you write a comment, I or Nikolay himself answer it. The most interesting comments are then separated into a separate post, if necessary

I remind you that wages and other confidential data are prohibited to disclose under an employment contract. Writing with a request to "help" in the device on Google also makes no sense.
