MWC Premieres: Sony Xperia U and Sony Xperia P

At the press conference Sony, which opened today at the Mobile World Congress 2012 in Barcelona, ​​the double premiere of the company's new smartphones was held: the alphabetical series of the NXT series was supplemented with two letters - Sony Xperia P and Sony Xperia U. Xperia P is a 4-inch smartphone in an aluminum case. If the flagship model Xperia S has a non-removable battery and built-in memory, then the Xperia P has already refused the case back as a separate part - the microSIM connector is now located on the side, in the same place as the HDMI output and MicroUSB port.

On the other hand, on the side, there is a volume control rocker, a power / screen lock button, a camera button and an additional speaker providing the 3D sound of the new model. Above there was only the audio jack, which will undoubtedly be appreciated by the owners of narrow jeans. This design of the hull allowed to make it all-aluminum. Another unique feature of Xperia P is Sony’s WhiteMagic display. The uniqueness of the display lies in the quality of the white light display by adding a fourth, white subpixel (to the standard red, green and blue. Usually the white color on the screen is obtained by mixing the three primary colors, and, depending on the settings, the color can “fade” in another shade In Xperia P, in order to give white, only a white subpixel works, which provides almost perfect color reproduction and at the same time saves battery consumption (one subpixel instead of three works). In addition, thanks to the new Abpixel, the Xperia P display is very bright - the maximum brightness is 935 candles versus the usual 500 candles for smartphones, which ensures comfortable work in the sun.

The smartphone will be available only in black and white cases, which is compensated by the possibility of changing the jolly colored overlays on the “chin”, and the transparent strip above it has the backlight of various colors.
