I work only for foreign customers in the field of system administration about 10-20 hours per week. I almost do not regret becoming a freelancer since I live on the bright side. What am I doing to work, or rather work well.
1) Separate work space and sleeping space. Here you can rent a more room apartment, work in a coworking center or cafe, convert a balcony to a study, and much more. The bed always pulls up the job and lags.
2) Drink delicious freshly brewed coffee. There is nothing better than a cup of espresso or cappuccino in the morning.

3) Do exercises in the morning. During the night, all the energy reserves in the liver run out and in order to get energy from the muscles in the form of lactic acid, the body needs a load on the muscles. It will give you energy before breakfast.
4) Eat breakfast, damn it, the body needs energy to move and think.
5) Live on the bright side. Lack of sun and heat significantly reduces productivity. Move to a warm country. Rent a house on the sunny side. Thailand and Vietnam are waiting for you.
6) Eat well. Often, but in small portions, this will allow the body to be in good shape and not accumulate excess fat (I do not like obesity).
7) Do not abuse food, drugs, cigarettes, alcohol, promiscuous sex life. When you are a freelancer you feel very free, and why not score another joint.
8) Swim in the ocean, pool, river, lake. Swimming is damn invigorating and relaxing. Increases the overall tone of life.
9) If you do not know how to work with projects (this is about project management), then do the following: break any project into subtasks with an equal time slot (2 hours, one day, two days) that you need to spend. Put in any bugtrackers (trac, mantis), project management systems (hi megaplan) and perform subtasks one by one. When they finish the project is completed.
10) If you all forget about me, then you need to use the reminder on the phone and on the computer. On my computer, I use
miniplan.ru because it is absolutely free and has free reminders to mail, toad, sms. On the phones I always use the built-in reminder. I made a simple rule. You need to do something. Immediately put in a reminder and now I never forget anything.
11) Exercise. The body must be tired not only with the brain. Lack of physical stress for me, for example, leads to poor sleep, I fall asleep late, the schedule becomes deadly biased.
12) Do not take work more than you can do. Several times it was in my life as a result of 5 dissatisfied customers. Very brutally to communicate with 5 people in Skype, when everyone has an urgent problem.
13) Learn English, this great language will help you travel and work for foreign customers.
14) Rest. Freelancer often forgets can work seven days a week and not give yourself a vacation. But the situation is such that the freelancer should have more weekends and 4 full-fledged holidays per year.
15) Get enough sleep. If all the time to be sleepy good work just will not. Take a nap at lunch after a meal, is also very helpful.
