Today it became known that Microsoft has decided to extend support for its Windows XP and Windows 7 operating systems until 2017 and 2020, respectively. Before the representatives of the company made such a decision, the period of support for these operating systems was supposed to end in April of this year.
Regular OS support was provided for five years, and for business users for 10 years. Now this rule has been changed, and support will be provided on a common basis for all owners of a licensed copy of Windows 7 or Windows XP.
So now all users of these operating systems will be able to receive support for many years. As part of the update, users will receive both basic and advanced add-ons. The new rule is relevant for all versions of Windows 7 and Windows XP. In addition, the next version of Windows - Windows 8 will receive the same support. Support for this OS will be relevant up to 2023.

In addition, Windows 8 users will be able to access the cloud environment from Microsoft, called SkyDrive. As a result of the integration of the “cloud” and the new OS, any user will be able to store the necessary data in the cloud environment, synchronizing files between the local PC and your SkyDrive account.
In addition, such integration will be available for some applications included in the Windows 8 set. According to the developers, thanks to this approach, any application for the new version of Windows can be considered cloud-based. How everything will be in reality - time will tell.
