Brandon Jones , an active WebGL developer, has released a new beta version of Quake 3 for browsers. According to the developer, several changes were made in the release that accelerated the work of the game: glMatrix was updated, jQuery was completely removed from the project, work began on a full screen mode. And indeed, the toy shows an excellent indicator of fps. But the main difference Brandon calls appeared support gamepad. Although the developer is not sure that it will be possible to run around with any device, however, the work done is impressive.
Of course, the project is still in an early stage, because you can't even shoot, but you can fully enjoy the possibilities of WebGL.
