If the forum administration communicates with visitors.

Some time ago I had a conflict with the visitors of my site because of the results of the photo contest, which we arranged. Here is the point:
the winner is determined by calculating the average rating for all photos, all can vote but take into account the votes of only some registered visitors who have been registered for a long time and show some activity. This is done in order to avoid multiple registrations under different nicknames and falsification of voting results.

When summing up, some thought that the result was calculated incorrectly or falsified by the site administrators. In part, this was due to the fact that we did not show the average score, but simply announced the result. I published the voting results, but the topic of discussion of photo contests was the most popular for about a week.

From this situation, I made several conclusions:

- no need to enter into discussions with visitors and try to prove your point - for all you can not become good.
- no need to try to change the rules just to satisfy some of the disgruntled
- competitors to such events are followed like flies to honey and begin to add fuel to the fire - their replicas are best ignored
- similar scandals attract attention and even prove useful
