Today we are pleased to announce the release of RubyMine 4.0 , a new version of the integrated development environment for Ruby on Rails from JetBrains. The main theme of the release was performance. The indexing and code analysis functions were significantly accelerated, and, as a result, the application response time was reduced during any work with it.
RubyMine 4.0 also includes the following changes:
redesigned and optimized UI for all supported platforms: Windows, Mac OS and Linux
implemented a lot of new inspections for the Ruby language, added methods for refactoring Inline Method and Unwrap
proposed new search functions, improved panels of class structure and type hierarchy
support for Rails platform up to version 3.2 inclusive, as well as integration with Phusion Passenger
for the CoffeeScript language, along with formatting and analyzing the code, compilation and code execution using Node.js also became available
code formatting has become available for SCSS / LESS languages
improved testing and debugging, support for MiniTest 2.10 and RSpec 2.8 environments is included
Added new features for working with version control systems, including a visual representation of the change graph for Git.
